Hi Eric
Gosh you have been busy!. I haven't been on the site for a while, I thought this was one of those sites that e-mailed you when there were replies to posts. However it now gives me some more avenues to research. Going back to John and Margar…
Some Historical and interesting notes compiled by my Sister Vera Raxster ( nee Pitchford).
I came across them when going through some of my sisters papers after she went into care.
I felt the contents might be of interest particularly with regard t…
Hi
The information i was given was that a very wealthy Sheik bought it in order to breed from from Arab stallions. I had thought I read somewhere that English heritage had been trying to get the present owner to do something with the house. I thoug…
A Pitchford cannot be connected to Pitchford Hall, only to the land on which it stands. The original manor was rebuilt after it changed out of Pitchford hands, into the beautiful Elizabethan House that is there now. Of course the well of pitch is there and on my last visit, which was before it was sold i gathered some of the pitch and still have it.
I am a Shropshire lass, so my line is Salopian, through and through. I have loads of information from various sources as I have been working on this for 34 years. Still I cannot find a link between the Norman Pitchfords and the Pitchfords from which we all arrive, circa 1500. And John Pitchford married to Margaret Rhodes June 8 1733, All Saints Dawley Shropshire, is still a mystery.
Shropshire is the largest county in England,, on the Welsh border and it is most beautiful, it is topped by the now extinct volcano,, the Wrekin.
Thank you Marie,
At 65 I must be returning to my childhood, as I found it geared to my attention
level! lol Yes, can take that out. If you have corrected your copy yo can email it to me at grambegoin@comcast.net. You can visit my site anytime as it is open without a password right now. It has been visited mostly by friends like yourself and family. Please leave me a not in the guestbook, as I want to have a memory of your visit. This site is still being put together and I have a lot of information to still include. I have just gotten more ambitious about transferring it and setting it up, the last few months. I have a site on ancestry.com where I have tree information and sources to transfer. Down with
a cold now, but who can lie in bed all day? It does affect my communications though, so please be aware of my own errors! How did you end up in Greece?
It sounds like such a fascinating place to live and full of so much history. I can easily see that you are a history buff like I am. Only problem is that I forget more than I remember these days. Thank goodness for computer storage!! Thank you again. Would love to hear from you whenever you have the time or feel like sharing some of your interesting life with me.

I should have read a little further!. Very nice story. Do you mind if I put it on my tribalpages site with full credits by you. I have a lot information that I want to dig out and check it against yours. My computer is down right now and will be for a week more probably. Using my daughters and it does not do all the things mine does. I have most things saved on on exterior hard drive. I found a site I have not seen before one line, I have it noted one my computer as I just found it before it went down. It is on the Venator family. It gives genealogy and background, have you run across that?
I gave you my sit address already, I think but it's lhagen.tribalpages.com
Hi Marie,
I descend from a Joseph Pitchford and Elizabeth Pitchford who came as
French Huegonauts to Kentucky in abt 1705. They, we think had a son
William, of whom we have more information. The trail is Virginia, which became Kentucly, then one to Missouri, into Arkansas, then Oklahoma and for me, California. have researched the Pitchfords, as much as possible, in Europe.
I remember finding Pitchfords around 1500 who were given estates in Ireland, but the father returned to England and left them in the hands of his son, which extended into a few generations before the estates were taken by the Queen. Seems the sone were named John. The father was a surveyor for the King, as I recall. I have not been able to find the right Joseph or Elizabeth Pitchford.
Hope to hear from you and about your researches, my email grambegoin@comcast.net.
